Butter

Just made some butter for I was told that the butter you buy in the store may contain 10% margarine.
So I bought Whipping Cream at Costco for $3.19.
I made about a pound of butter and I have about 2 cups of "whey" or some may call it buttermilk.
I have a Bosh Universal Mixer (older version) and tried the blender.
Then I put the Bosch bowl on with the whips and in about 3 minutes I had butter. I then put butter into cheesecloth and pressed out the "whey". ( When pressing out the "whey" I pressed it into a bowl.
Just at the end I added a little sea salt.
So the "whey" can be used in cakes and I love it for making bread!!

Have you ever wondered what is in the bags , boxes and cans that the stores are offering you to buy? Some of the things listed on the label we can not understand.
So I have been doing a whole lot of research. What did my great-great grand parents do for their food.
Well I have been trying a lot of recipes out and I will start posting them when they are perfected!
The last recipe I have tried is sour dough starter. It finally turned out after a few tries, the power went out and I had to leave for the day, and the starter went bad. So I will try it out again next week.
Children have so many allergies and I strongly incourage the new mothers to invest in the "Baby Bullet". That way baby can eat the "natural" foods.

What a great Christmas I had!! My husband had this computer desk made for me and wow I am loving it!! Just have to buy a new computer chair.
We had the family over on the 26 of Dec. and had a great time. So now back to business. Fairy Portraits I will run for the month of Jan. 2011.Hurry and reserve your session!!
